Lorraine Ellison, (FCMA, CGMA, MBA) is a Chartered Management Accountant. She runs accountancy firm Simply Additions Ltd, based in the north-east of England. Since founding the Company in 2007 with one client, she has grown the business to a client base of 200 and a team of 7. Clients were initially gained though the power of networking. Over the 18 years of running the business, Lorraine has learned many valuable lessons and is keen to share her knowledge with fellow business owners, in addition to her 20 years’ experience as management account and financial controller in manufacturing and service companies. Simply Additions provide a wide range of accountancy services including accounts, tax, payroll, company secretarial, management accounts, Finance Director, and business advisory services. The services are aimed at small, limited companies, including start-up businesses. The business is fully digital, with flexible and remote working style with occasional physical meet ups. The focus is on use of automation to allow more time for smarter working methods. Lorraine is a keen supporter of HMRC’s MTD ITSA initiative.
